“Hitler now wants your country’s western half and we certainly will NOT go to war to defend you. You are on your own. Good luck!”
P.S. The forgotten part of the story was that the commanders of the German Armed Forces (Wehrmacht) had secretly told the Western powers that, if Hitler ordered them to attack Czechoslovakia:
P.P.S. Without the SKODA armament factories inside Czechoslovakia, Hitler would not have been prepared to invade Poland, with or without the Soviet Union, for many, many months past September 1939.
